hi all! i have been working on the second of the twelve canvases... this one is still in progress, but i think i like the direction so far. i already have the third planned and am more than excited to begin, but this one will need to be completed first.

also, thank you to all of you that came out to the square one show! it was a really lovely night, and all of the work was exceptional! so many of you encouraged me throughout the night, and i can't tell you how rewarding and affirming it was to hear your words! thank you!

I just wanted to say THANK YOU so much to those that came out to Cafe Hey tonight! it was so much fun, and i loved getting to talk with everyone. it makes me feel so wonderful to know that you guys love these things as much as i do... really, thank you from the bottom of my heart! and THANK YOU to cheong and anne (et al. at cafe hey!) for hosting the show and letting my work stay on your walls for a bit.. it is an honor, and the show was a blast! <3

well, it is done.

i started this painting a long while ago, and though i knew the feeling, i did not know what belonged in the hands... so... i waited. finally it occurred to me that the only appropriate thing would be the weeping philosopher. it is a nod to heraclitus, who believed that the only thing constant is change, you can never step in the same river twice... and so it is. click on the image and it will take you to a new link on the nav bar entitled "NEW series". be patient with me. my goal is 12 canvases in the next year. i will post them to this page whenever i have an addition.

i hope you like it. i feel like i love it.

yesterday was a huge day! i ran the gasparilla 5k with a good friend of mine (it was freezing and raining, but we managed to run the whole race and even sprint to the finish line!)...my mother's never been prouder...????

after that i headed to work, and then a quick stop at home to get ready to go to the SPOT for the show...

the munny show was fantastic! chad and suzie cardoza put on such a great event with an incredible amount excellent artwork! it was great to see some familiar faces. p.s. if you are interested, some of the munny dolls (including my pieces) will be showing at Urban Outfitters in centro ybor for the month of march! come check them out if you were not able to make the show. :)

also, the info for the GASP!arilla 2 show is on the show info page (as well as the info for the square one event "camille Leonn" in april)

hi all!
just wanted to remind you that the munny show is tonight at the skate park. it should be lots of fun. i have taken pictures of them and i will post them after the show...
and
i am going to be in GASP!arilla at Cafe Hey in early March (i believe around the 6th). I will let you know more when i have the info...
Last, but not least,
i have started painting again. the series will consist of 12 larger canvases... beginning with "in the wrong hands", which is finally nearing completion. i got really clear at the last show, and now i am certain about what i want (and need) to paint.
i will of course post them when i finish each one.
it is strange, but i didn't realize how much i missed it until i started it again.
here's to the love of the arts.

this is the drawing i did a few days ago. i have made one since then, but i am not sure if i am going to post it. maybe i just need to tweak it. :)

i wanted to create a sub nav bar that would allow you to select drawing sets by color. (which turned out to be more difficult than i had imagined).

i am currently working on the second of these (green and red) that i hopefully will be able to post tomorrow. there should be 9 in this color series as well.

i have added new artworks to the drawing section. i think there are six new drawings (for a total of 9 in all), beginning with this one...

if you are into that sort of thing. i wanted to wait until i was able to shoot them with a little more clarity. the past few pictures have been very blurry...  this weekend i will have more time to take advantage of the sunlight. i think at this point i have made about seven to nine of the drawings. (i can't remember which odd number it is)

currently reading don delillo's white noise. so far, i love it. we will see... i'll keep you posted.

i have added some drawings to the nav bar. hopefully i will be doing these for a while. they are a great jump start to my creative process... it makes me think of the surrealist movement (automatic drawings). they would say that these drawings are a reflection of my subconscious.

i wonder what my subconscious is trying to tell me?!! :)

hi all. it has been a while. i don't want you to think i have forgotten about you, or that i am not painting. i am in the middle of a painting. i will post it at the bottom of this blog...

_on  a related note, michel gondry is coming out with a few books it seems. they should be incredible. i love the fact that his art is not static and that he has such a beautiful way with Constructing surrealism. 

i just started reading "extremely loud and incredibly close" by  Jonathan Safran Foer (a recommedation from a friend) and i have to say that so far, it is incredible as well.

and last buy NOT least...of montreal and conor oberst are both coming to town AND i did end up going to georgia to see wolf parade. they are FANTASTIC live... just as i had hoped.

ok. it is a piecemeal blog...but at least it is a blog.

ahhhh! have you ever typed a blog, a VERRRRYY long blog and when you tried to post it, it dissappeared? if so, then you know how i feel right now! i was just telling you, though you didn't hear it, that i was excited because i have been very distracted lately (and as a result i do not have a new painting to show you yet...) however,   today i went to a meeting with my art friends, and i came home all revved up and ready to go! then i wrote a blog and was verrrry excited, and then it vanished and i was... well.... ahhhhh! lol.. well,
the summer is going well. i have been resting. a lot. maybe too much. i just finished these two sketches, which means that now i have about five ideas that i need to paint. i would like to get them finished by the end of summer. again, i realize this is a lofty goal, but at least i have something to shoot for... that and seeing wolf parade this summer!!! yayyyy!!! if you have not checked them out yet, they are fantastic.

wolf parade just came out with a new album and in it, they included a poster done by elizabeth huey and matt moroz. i was SO excited that i went to michael's  That night to get a frame for it, and it JUST so happened that i found a wooden framed, mass produced work of art on SALE that was the exact Same size as the poster! needless to say, i bought it, took it home, disassembled it, and placed the new poster inside. it now resides above my bed. :)

hi! i hope you all are doing well, and that your summer has been fantastic. mine has been going really well. i have been doing some screen printing, as well as working out some sketches for paintings. i should have another painting up soon (hopefully within the next week and a half.) 

please bear with me about the site. i know some of you type in the url directly,and then find an error or no page. that is because when i change the site or add pages, sometimes it affects the previous page, etc. i will try to keep it as consistent as possible.  if you do find any errors like that, you can feel free to send me a note and let me know.
